Captain Scarlet/Supercar crossover?

Has anyone else ever considered the idea of writing a crossover story between Captain Scarlet and Supercar?

I'm already working on one such Captain Scarlet/Supercar crossover story, which I call "Yellow Lieutenant." The Mysteron threat here is to "vapourise the Mercury Project." The Mercury Project here is the new Supercar, the work of FBV (Full Boost Vertical) Technologies, and former WAAF Major Michael "Triple" Mercury III is running the project.

Why the title "Yellow Lieutenant" for the story? Because of a temporary--and untried--field partner assigned to Captain Scarlet in what's supposed to be Captain Blue's absence, Lieutenant Yellow of Spectrum.

I don't know anything about Supercar but is a story about a new supercar a cross-over if the people in it aren't the same as the show? (I don't know if Triple Mercury is the same in the show. ) I have read some cross-over stories on the website and most of them have the TV people in only older or younger than on TV. Is there a rule about where a story isn't a cross-over but a new idea ?

If memory serves me, the events in the original series programme Supercar originally took place in the 1960s. This Mike Mercury is intended to be the grandson of the original. He is nicknamed "Triple" Mercury because he is the third member of his family to be named Michael Mercury. His father Michael Mercury Jr. was nicknamed "Double" and his GRANDFATHER Michael Mercury SR. (RIP) gave himself the nickname "Single" after his son Michael Jr. was born.

Admittedly, I actually know little about the original series programme Supercar, and would welcome having a complete guide to it should such a guide exist.

Whilst I'm sure research can be an awfully fun pastime, aren't you giving yourself rather a hard time with this idea, Parker?
(And before you ask...I know nothing about Supercar - the original!)

If you are really intent on writing about Supercar, though, surely it makes better sense to write about the original first, and then worry about extrapolating it to the future, when you are more comfortable with the concept?

Just a thought....

I've never heard that done as a crossover and I've never considered doing that crossover myself.

I'm beginning to brainstorm a Captain Scarlet & Doctor Who crossover, and I'm being pestered to do another Power Rangers crossover.

Great idea but how about a fanfic where Scott Tracy calls Spectrum to help rescue his father Jeff Tracy after he (Jeff, not Scott) is kidnapped by Captain Black
