... of a story I'm working on. It's series of vignettes, one for every month on Cloudbase (spanning a year).

As it's St Patrick's day, then it seemed appropriate to post the 'chapter' for March.

Have you the green food colouring?

Captain Blue shut the oven door, leant against it and sighed.
“Okay, that’s the last batch.”
“About frigging time." Magenta retorted "Jeez whose idea was it to bake a gross of cookies?”
“Yours.”
“Oh yeah … well they’ll go a damn sight faster than it took to make them. No one can resist Mam’s cookies.”
“So very right.”
Blue had of course eaten a cookie or two, just for you know ‘testing’.
Magenta grinned, he had found a perfect accomplice in Blue. Not only another competent cook, but the Bostonian had vivid memories of the revelry that took place in his home city’s Irish quarter. They couldn’t hope to recreate the glorious celebrations they had grown up with, but hoped their culinary contribution would be a start.
“Better get cracking with the icing then.” Magenta said, slightly overwhelmed at the sight of a hundred or so golden brown cookies, all shaped as shamrocks.
“Have you the green food colouring?” He asked.
“Of course.”
Quite how Blue had managed to acquire the emerald liquid was a mystery; Magenta was just grateful and asked no questions.
They spent the next hour listening to their mutual favourite songs, contentedly stirring and spreading the icing.
“Finished.”
“Brilliant, Cloudbase had better prepare itself for the world’s first airborne St Patrick’s day party.”

I've nearly finished the whole fic, just need to write August and December.

Gosh...I completely forgot! We dont go big for St Patrick's Day in Wales..... they sort of do St David's here.. but thanks for the reminder...!
I Remember I went to Chicago one St Patrick's weekend...they dyed the river green and all the beer too ....
But....Nice idea Sage...a vignette for every month...! I guess December is too obvious..huh?
August...hmm...well...it's the original Captain Blue and Destiny Angel's birthdays...night be something there?
