Father Ivory

I love the fanon character Father Ivory and I would LOVE to borrow his concept in a story, not changing anything, but I would like to ask permission from whoever created him.

One teensy problem: I cannot for the life of me remeber or find that story or remeber who wrote it.

Anyone know?

Father, Ivory (I) - created by Mary J. Rudy. Cloudbase’s chaplain. Native of Italy.
Ivory, Father (II) – name inspired by Mary J. Rudy, this character has been given a different background by Parker Gabriel. First appearance: “Ivory Father”.

There is a database of fanon characters which is being complied, so that'll help in the future.

No harm done, though. We were preparing to announce it.

The dababase is not QUITE ready, as we have not yet added all the characters - and even creations - that writers have added to their fiction stories over the years. At the moment, though, it's quite a big list already, and we still have to add to it - and to edit out what we think would not be useful information.

Adding to that, the list might take a little more time to complete as we thought it would. There's a little something called the Halloween Challenge showing its head at the moment, and of course, right after that, the Christmas Challenge. So that keeps people - me included - pretty busy!

In reference to the Father Ivory character: In truth, it's Mary J. Rudy who created the character, so this would be the person you should ask permission to, Keep Fish.

Should have said it was secret, wouldn't have mentioned it otherwise.

Anyway yeah it is good form to ask to borrow a character. Pretty much all the writers are around so not too hard.

You might like to know that we offer a beta-reading service - advice is available on plot coherence, characterisation, spelling, grammar, vocabulary and suitability of the story for the site. Have a look in the Fan Fiction board, "Free service from the Beta readers Circle" topic (http://spectrum-headquarters.com/v-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?t=146) for further details. Beta-reading isn't mandatory by any means, but it is recommended - post a request for betaing on the Beta Readers topic, and one of the readers will get in touch.

Re the lines under the writing that you asked about - do you mean the one immediately between this message and my signature? If so, they're added automatically whenever you post, if you've created a signature in your Profile. Click on Profile link at the top of any page in the forum to see how to add a signature.
