The idea of a Captain Scarlet-Jurassic Park crossover was not one I would have considered, but Marion Woods's "Resurrection" worked out rather well.

But aside from the idea of the Mysterons taking over fossils and re-creating exact likenesses of the live reptiloid archosaurs, THAT was a bit much. Even I can't conceive of the Mysterons's power of matter reversal going THAT far. That that one major flaw somehow failed to ruin what was otherwise a decent story is a credit to Marion's skills in writing stories.

The story had been written by Hilary Perry for an Australian fanzine some years ago. I made contact with Hilary last year to ask her if she would like for her story to appear online, last year for the Halloween Challenge.

Whatever theory was behind the Mysterons 'recreating' dinosaurs, though, I personally cannot say it's a major flaw, because all theories are acceptable in the world of fanfic, and we're all entitled to some 'creative freedom' in order to write that stuff - mainly for our own enjoyment. I created the "red stones" out of fragments of a mysteron diamond pulsator, just for the heck of it, and in order to send Scarlet and Ochre in a parallel world. I had no science attached to it, just "pseudo-science" that I invented.

Moreover, the Halloween Challenge, considering its own definition is filled with "weird, stange, and wacky" stories of all kind, even some stories featuring the death of major characters, or a "turning to the dark side" from some of them. Next to everything is allowed in an Halloween story so resurrected dinosaurs? I's only a small matter

Additionally, it wasn't the first time the Mysterons actually mysteronised the long dead... There was a comic strips appearing in the 90s called "Going for Gold" (specialists, correct me if I'm wrong in my dates and or titles!), in which the Mysterons took over dead bodies from a military cemetary. Okay, the bodies were still there, but they some of them had been VERY long dead.

Oh yes I do remember that comic strip, can't recall the title or anything either though.

Anyway yes I don't worry about science and such, after all if captain scarlet is ultimatly a kids show and probably not meant to be taken seriously.
As it is I've always found people more interesting than theories. So the plausability of a situation is mostly irrelevant to me, I just want to see how the characters handle it.
