Christmas Fan Fiction Challenge 2008-2009

Okay... You all know it was coming... And here it is!

This is the official launching for the Spectrum Headquarters Christmas Challenge!

You all know how it goes (or so I assume, as you are all members of this forum - and then, supposedly, you KNOW about the website :wink:

).

This Challenge calls for you to write a Captain Scarlet/Christmas theme story, of at least one page or as long as you wish. It could be either a original Scarlet story, or a New Captain Scarlet story. The rules of all challenges on this site apply. See the page for the complete set of rules).

As we did last year, you will have until the end of January to present your story - it worked very well last year, and it did give some time to a few writers (me included...) to finish their story.

So, grab your pen and paper (or keyboard and screen...) and do answer the Christmas Challenge! And have fun!

Just kidding, Chris, and I second Hazel about that fabulous graphic, Scarlet looks ace!
I am sure there will be an outpouring of delights once again in 2008!

I've got a few stories lined up for this challenge.... if truth be told, i have 2 stories, but thats more than enough for me :wink:

for this challenge.
The question is: Will all my xmas fics be ready to post before the end of the challenge?

Well, one down, and writer's block is refusing to clear. I hope people like the images I've done. They were fun to create and a lot easier than the fan fiction!

I've managed to work out a way around the writer's block on one of my xmas stories.... by changing the story 'slightly' :wink:

. Still no sign of it reaching a stage where I can start sending it to be beta'd though

The other one I'm writing has been shelved until further notice

So it looks like there may only be one fic from me this xmas (same as last year... blimey! Doesn't time fly?....)

Yeah, just think, back in July, i had posted my first fan fiction. Now that's scary. I was still in 6thform at the time.

One handed over to be beta-read and for the colonel to see what she makes of it.
It hasn't gone as I expected and I'm in 2 minds about it.

Nothing new from me at the moment. Writer's Block has wrapped itself around my imagination and blocked it, save for one x-mas fan fic that I've nearly finished. I think it'll be okay, and I've used a couple of things that I've noticed in the series.

I've just finished the second draft of 'stranger things'. It's ready send that along as is; but now I'm tempted to add some suitable christmassy touches to suit the challenge. Might just do that with the third draft.
Incidentally what was meant to be a sceene and a bit of additions, ended up at nealy 15k. Good luck with that.

My main christmas fic is getting there. It now has a set title and is at 26k, though the middle chapters surely need a serious hatchet job. I'm getting a bit insecure about it because there's lots of blocks of dialogue which porobably isn't very exciting. But will keep going and see what the betas/readers make of it.
