Well, I was going to savour this over several nights, but I COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN!!!
Hazel, this story is Brilliant!!! I am a huge Star Trek TNG fan, and you protrayed all the people, elements, in such glorious perfection.
The plot was terrific, the threads intertwining magnificently and the dialogue sparkling and I could picture perfectly all the aliens and planets you so marvelously described in such concise detail. And as for the ending...
I'll stop now..I'm running out of adjectives....
But if anyone hasn't read this yet...Give yourself a major treat!!!!

If this is what happens with writers block...then I want some.....

Thats the most impressive story I've ever seen and I like to think I lived in Start Fleet during Next Generations lifetime on the telly. I think all we need now is some really talented artist to put Paul in his proper Star fleet togs and let that tell the rest of the story. :wink:

As for the picture of Scarlet in Starfleet uniform - we have a couple of talented Photo-Shop users on this forum. Wonder if they'd oblige...

Okay, so I know I'm behind, but it has to be said. I was raised on TNG, and this was BRILLIANT! To find my two favorite shows combined so flawlessly was a wonderful surprise. I've read it twice already.

Hazel – this is simply brilliant! Thank you!

For those of you that haven’t yet had the pleasure of reading ‘S.I.Q.’, you have a real treat in store; it is an utterly engrossing, fabulously written story in which the characters just ‘zing’ - I simply couldn’t put it down (thank goodness for the portability of laptops!). I love TNG and Hazel has married it with CS in such a convincing way – the characters seem to have just stepped right out of one of the episodes, they are so 'real'. I wasn’t sure how Hazel would go about the crossover, but it works perfectly in every way, and the ending... ah well, you’ll just have to read it to find out what a scorcher it is. Now I can finally tie in the super image manip of a Starfleet uniform-clad Scarlet (posted in the Gallery) with the story itself.

If you’ve not yet discovered it yourself, make sure you put it on your ‘essential reading’ list! :grin:

I think SIQ is my favourite of my own stories, and the only one that came easily, with no blocking. SIQ2 is now bubbling gently on the back-burner of my imagination...

I have to admit that I really liked the portrayal of Q and everyone's reactions to him, like the 'calling a cat' and the comment about still being in the right time line and universe after the conflab in the ready room. The general disapproval of Scarlet after the Eugenics War was also a very good touch, an extremely human reaction to someone different.

The manip is by Carrie, our Queen of PhotoDeLuxe. If memory serves, I think she used Riker's body (mmmm...)
