I did save Careless Whisper for today, however!

Scarlet: Next you'll tell me I'm gonna get myself killed!

Sibling Rivalry was so good; well paced action and lots of sweet/funny moments too. I'm not really a fan of Scarlet but some how it worked even when he was behaving badly. Poor long suffering Blue, lol.

I have to admit, I hadn't quite realised just how badly Paul was behaving, until my beta-reader (a dedicated Pauline) dubbed him 'Paul-the-brat'....
I can quite see what she means...

"A brave man... and SO good-looking..." to which we might add, petulant, moody and mardy....

Translator's note:
Mardy (rhymes with 'hardy') adj., n.; colloquial, dialect
Uses
'Mardy' is a word that, although extremely descriptive and very useful, is not widely known outside the Midlands region of the United Kingdom. It should be.
Because it is not widely used, 'mardy' is difficult to describe to non-users, its meaning being quite elusive. Context helps, though:
One can be a mardy cow. One can be in a mardy. And no one would want you to have a mardy on them
Definitions
Any clearer? Well, 'stroppy' would be similar, as would 'to have a strop', but it's a bit too aggressive and sulky. Mardy has much more of a whine to it. 'Tantrum' isn't really applicable, since mardies are more likely to be ignored/shoved into the corner than to cause a scene.
Whingeing, sulky, snivelling... all have their merits, but none quite capture the soggy mix of petulance and patheticness that mean someone's got a mardy on them.

Yes, I did think Scarlet redeemed himself a bit at the end

Careless whisper was sweet ! What wouldn't we all give for a man like Captain Blue ! Takes the dekkies down without a single grumble.......
Well done !

I am beginning to wonder if I wasn't a bit hasty in dealing with Ronnie - he might have been useful... Still, the Inspiration Fairies are tough and when they get hold of you, you don't have much say in what gets written... (Well, I don't.)
I could always ask The Boss to let me 're-imagine' the story. After all, I'd be following a well-trodden path.
