Now everyone knows my devotion to NCS (not) - so one of the greatest accolades I can give, is to say that I forgot it was NCS and just enjoyed it for what it was - a damn fine story

Seriously, well done, Skybase Girl. I know you felt it was hard work, but be assured, it has paid off handsomely.

A wonderful story that FINALLY gives us some depth to the NCS characters, something that has been sadly lacking.
Thank you sooo much Skybase Girl for providing a 'life' to the characters in your story! You managed to make them so much more realistic and human.
I am looking forward to MORE NCS stories from you!

It was hard work, but I enjoyed it, although there many occasions when I thought it was absolute drivel !
I will never again, hopefully, write in longhand and wait till I've got to the end before editing and typing. That was a nightmare, particularly at this busy time of year !
I am particularly grateful to the Colonel, for putting it on the website so quickly. I submitted it right at the last minute, so was not expecting to see it posted until well into the New Year. Thanks, Chris !

Knew you could do it, hopefully it'll be the first of many more great stories.

But it' always lovely to read them again when they are in the web, with all the little embellishments like backgrounds and stuff.
I'd still like to add my accolades to the rest, tardy though they may be.
Very nice characterisation, especially of an orginal character (Carrie), and nice descriptions of the settings, I could just imagine being caught in that frozen nightmare! Super dialogue, a skill that I believe you share with Marion, Skybase Girl!
Now, I realised something very disturbing...your potrayal of Captain Black (coupled with my imagining of the character as potrayed on the TV show) had me fancying HIM instead of the 'hero'.
Does that make me a bad person???

Scarlet's too much of a social inept geek to get hot under the collar over.
Having read it again I'm still floored at how excellent the story in every capacity. But the thing that I really noticed was that the story also made me ... like Destiny.

Not entirely sure how to take that; but it's a major accomplishment.

Still, if I can make anyone like Destiny, then my toil has not been in vain !
As for Black, having fun with him just seems to come naturally. I can't pretend I like him as a person ( either before or after being Mysteronised) but the NCS storyline where he is concerned is so much more interesting than OCS. Lets face it, girls, he's Mad, Bad and Dangerous to know ( was that Lord Byron ?) and that makes him attractive !

I should add that Scarlet's ineptness is endearing. It's just not a typically fanciable quality. He's 'puppy cute' rather than 'hot guy cute' y'know.

Hmm that is quite a challenge; but I never figured you'd make Destiny likeable. So I'm sure you'll manage.

How to make him more fanciable....
Answer: Give him a personality transplant. Or even better - a personality...
