The Ghost of Christmas Past

A welcome addition to the Christmas challenge! Not quite the traditional Christmas 'ghost' story but none the less poignant for that.
Nice to see Harmony featuring and where would we be without that ever-entertaining Captain Ochre?

Oh my, this story didn't go at all where I thought it was going! I'm saying this in a good way, I love it when I can't predict the denouement. I agree with Marion, an excellent addition to the challenge! 8M-M)

Thank you, ladies, for your kind responses, makes the writing all the more worthwhile.
Isabelle, liked your comment about the denouement, the story didn't pan out the way I originally planned in the writing either

, but sometimes, that's a good thing. The story started off as a bit too dark, then seemed to be nothing but complete fluff, and then finally turned out as a mix of both, thanks to some excellent (and when it is never!) advice from Marion. Another example of how writing can be an organic process. REALLY glad you found something you liked in it.

This has to be the quickest story I've written, and on the heels of the calendar, I must have borrowed someone's Inspiration Fairy, maybe it was VMR's.. (sorry about that, love!) Still not up to Chris or Marion's superhero standards, but....works for me!
