I know it has been some time since this story was first posted, but my interest in it was rekindled by the author's corrections to the original text.

I realised that I had probably only "skimmed" it, or had not read it at all. Either way, I discovered I had been missing out on a real treat !

This is a warm, funny, marvellously plotted story, as subtle in the drawing of the characters as it is rich in scientific detail.

Completely engaging, it had me hooked until two in the morning, when I was finally left hanging at the end of Chapter 9 ( or was it 10), desperately worried about the fate of Zil !

That brings me to Zil - there has been a lot said recently on the forum about the introduction of original characters. If you want to know how to do it and do it very well, you need look no further than this. Brilliantly executed, a real "tour de force".

For heaven's sake, Siobhan, please finish it and put us all out of our misery ! :-D

I started reading this one ages ago; but then have held off because it would be so bad to hit the cliffhanger having got so engrossed. So will be waiting until the final chapter then can rattle through the whole thing.
I'll be woth the wait; great characters, canon and original, with such an intriguing story.

Oh...wow! I hardly know what to say - so Thank You so much for the kind words! :grin:

(And for the undying patience from those who are waiting for the finale! I guess I'd really better get cracking then!)

But really - much gratitude for the glowing reviews. Sorry to have kept Skybase Girl up to the wee hours - but I will take that as high praise indeed! Ever so glad that the attention to scientific detail didn't scare you off - my inner Einstein insists on that sort of thing and is very pleased that you noticed!

Happy too that Zil was found to be up to snuff as an original character - she was invented in large part to bounce off of the canon characters and I've gone to some lengths quite deliberately to ensure she doesn't steal their limelight. (Seems to have worked....)
