Why do they put SPVs in such odd places?
Moderator: Spectrum Strike Force
Now, heres something I've wondered for a while. In several episodes Scarlet, Blue or whoever fly down from Cloudbase in an SPJ, so presumably they land at an airport/airfield somewhere. Then they're shown driving a SSC, sometimes quite a distance to collect an SPV. But why do they bother? Why couldn't they just put the SPVs where they keep the SSCs so it's quicker for them to get to in an emergency?

I felt that 'New Captain Scarlet' actually improved on this slightly unusual premise with the usage of rapid deployment Albatross flight carriers.

LOL!
Here's a few interesting places;
"The Mysterons": Swift Removals van.
"Winged Asssassin": Mobile Home
"Manhunt" & "Fire at Rig 15": dummy oil storage tanks
"Avalanche": log shack
"Point 783": desert village market
"Model Spy": hidden building front
To name a few!

That said I do recall Grey having a tipple of some description whilst riding in the tanker in 'winged assasin', though of course you don't see him actually drinking it.

And of course - everyone gets plastered in 'Flight to Atlantica'...

I expect, in true Spectrum fashion, there are colour-coded picnic hampers in every SPV and SPJ

LOL I love the idea of spectrum issue picnic hampers; they must surely be provided with some kind of food rations in case of getting stranded or whatever.
Hmm I'm seeing huge fic potential here.

:cry: (it's meant to be 'crying with laughter' as that is what I have been doing when I read this discussion).
I wouldn't mind a pink hamper... I'd prefer a black one though

What I am unsure of is the 'colour-coded hampers' would only be for Scarlet, Blue.... Magenta etc. as there would be major cofusion between the Angels as to which hamper belongs to whom.
(in case anybody doesn't know what I'm talking about: ... correct me if I'm wrong)... the Angels all have the same coloured uniform
that's madness with a little 'm'... as in 'crazy'...

They do fly other planes, before anyone mentions it, but not SPJs... at least, not on TV.

Maybe the angels hampers are monogramed (with their code names).
Hmm wonder what would be in their hampers.

that's Marks & Spencers for the non-UK residents! Sorry, keep forgetting not to use initials.

That's a very good point. Maybe after Manhunt colonel sent them on a training course.
Angels on SPV training course, week 21:
INSTRUCTOR: "No... NOooooooooo! I keep telling you, that's NOT the brake, you silly woman!!!! NOOOOOOO!!! CAN'T YOU SEE THERE'S A TREE IN FRONT OF US!??????"
CRASHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
INSTRUCTOR: (Sigh...) "That's the SIXTH SPV you girls crash this month... Are you all related to a certain Paul Metcalfe!?"
