Colonel White

Is it wrong of me to find a completely CGI character quite attractive?

I am seriously liking Colonel White (must be my older man complex rising to the surface) and the tragic thing is that when I go back and view Classic CS - I quite fancy the puppet version as well!
HELP ME NOW.
I have a few reservations about the new CS but I do think that Colonel White is the one character they got right from the outset. Nerves of steel but not quite as stuffy as his classic counterpart and with a nice line in sarcastic wit. Shame about the terrminally simpering daughter though. I'm even OK with the fact he has a misses, makes him more human somehow.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to see my mental health professional

LOL my mum mentioned that CGI White had a cute butt.
Maybe it's the authority and charisma thing too.
Yeah do think they got his character spot on, good stuff.
Can't really help you, but do totally understand. Must confess to having a bit of a crush on Blue, and come to think of it Grey and Ochre aren't bad either.

I will also admit to a persistent (if secondary) interest in Colonel White as a fave character, but mostly classic White. (with all due respect, NCS Colonel White doesn't yell nearly enough, but he is the closest thing to someing out of OCS, and you've gotta like that.)

You've missed highly intelligent and all knowing and compassionate. (Even if he doesn't often let on....)

If therapeutic assistance for a confirmed infatuataion with fictional CS characters is what you're looking for, I'm afraid you've come to the wrong site....
in other words, welcome to the club!

It seems to me that you don't have a crush on a person per se: rather you're admiring (possibly to the point of adulation) the characteristics that you perceive the person possesses - and that person can be real or imaginary. It's said that Dorothy L. Sayers was in love with Lord Peter Wimsey (whom she created, of course). My sister used to be in love with Sir Percival Blakeney aka The Scarlet Pimpernel. Are such things abnormal? Hardly: women's romantic fiction is a billion-dollar industry!
I suspect women are rather more understanding of this sort of thing than men. When sizing up a woman, a man will concentrate primarily - and depressingly often exclusively - on her physical characteristics, whereas when sizing up a man, a woman will ask herself "Could this man look after me?". Maybe that's why women are less interested in what a man looks like than what his capabilities are - and as Henry Kissenger once said, power is the greatest aphrodisiac there is. On the basis of that analysis, I'd expect quite a lot of women to be impressed by the image that Colonel White projects.

I could never do that to anyone living - and once (and even now I cringe at the memory of this) I saw part of a Graham Norton show where he and Orlando Bloom were logged into a fan chat room, having hysterics over the gushing posts of the 'fangurls'...

I even got twitchy over Keryn's marvelous story 'Fanfiction' ... so no way could I do that to a REAL, real person...

Oh I know of lots of people who do the 'real person' thing (via livejournal). Not sure which I'm more distrubed by; the online journals they set up pretending to be those celebrities, or the 'real person slash'.
LOL can relate to the historical crush thing, have always had a great fondness for Felix Yusupov. Am writing a novel about him for uni.
Have read that fanfiction story, nice but really surreal. Believe it's called 'hitting the fourth wall'.
