Who could be the star?

Hi there!!
Now that this Thurnderbirds movie (save that for another time..yipes!) is coming out, I was thinking about a Captain Scarlet movie. Does anyone have any idea who they think would make a good Captain Scarlet, or should they get someone unknown?
I think they would have to pick someone unknown, because I sure can't think of anyone.

Well, we've been discussing this recently with a few friends, and (so far) I always came up with the same answers. No-one is obligated to agree with me, but I thought that Hugh Jackman might make a good Captain Scarlet, Matthew McConaughey could be Captain Blue and Sir Anthony Hopkins would make a perfect Colonel White. So maybe McConaghey might be blond enough, but once his hair are dyed, I think he would be more than acceptable...

Sir Ian McKellen - a candidate for Colonel White? After all we know he takes a nice head of white hair.... :wink:

and his voice is far more impressive than Sir Anthony's.

Colin Firth - old 'wet-T-shirt-man' himself - a Mr Darcy for the 21st Century. But is he also a candidate for Captain Scarlet?

I am still looking for the ideal Captain Blue - but Matthew McConaughey will do for now....

(I am not taking the ages of the people concerned into account - so replies of 'he's too old' will be totally ignored.... :angel)

OK, if age is no barrier - how about Paul Gross (Fraser, in Due South) or Pierce Brosnan? I know that Paul Gross is either American or Canadian, but a decent voice coach could sort that little detail out. AND we already know he looks cute in a red uniform:

Everyone has great idea's. But I must say, I CAN see Hugh Jackaman as Captain Scarlet! I was having a hard time thinking of ANYONE. I don't know how all of you came up with people. ..but, we can't forget Captain Black... How about Jauquin Phoenix?

I'd have to say Brendan Fraser for Ochre - I mean, the man is born for the role, he's already called Fraser for starters and he's played a fun/action guy called Rick in The Mummy.............

Here are three very obvious Angels! Symphony in the middle; Harmony on the right, I think. Not totally sure about the other one, but maybe with a French accent you could make a Destiny out of her.

We can disgree, can we? I found three other actress that might be suitable for the Angels role. The first Vivica A. Fox I had discussed recently online with friends. She could be Melody. She made a short appearance in Kill Bill Vol. 1 recently and so is familiar to action movies.

So is Natasha Henstridge a Canadian born actress that I saw the other night in a TV series called She Spies - which is very similar to Charlie's Angels... She also has experience fighting Martian enemies, as she has played a military officer in Ghosts from Mars. Look at her closely - she could be our Symphony.

The last Elizabeth Hurley to my opinion, shares a striking resemblance with Rhapsody. She played a wicked Devil in Bedazzled, with Brendan Fraser...

Ah, yes! The perfect Rhapsody! I can't think of anybody who comes close to conveying the sheer style that Hurley radiates so effortlessly; not just in the looks, but the voice too. Genius!

Daryl Mitchell, from Galaxy Quest. Nice line in sarcastic humour, and an embittered child star might go down well with Col White
or, if you fancy a change of pace:

Alfre Woodard, the feisty first-ever warp-engineer from Star Trek First Contact. Who could forget her line "Definitely not Swedish..."?

Now, I would normally not argue with The Mysterons (I must be reeling from the shock of the previous suggestions for the Angels) but how about the following suggestion for Captain Black?

Now that would (almost) be enough to make me think of defecting......

I forgot to mention - if age is not an issue here - why look any further for a Captain Grey - than the youthful Sean Connery?

Why do I suddenly get the thought that Scarlet's nose would be put right out of joint? :angel)

Well, fancy that..I've been giving this one some thought for a while..so nice that someone had the nerve to post it here! I do like some of the choices..but I thought I'd come up with a few of my own...dont know how many pics I'll get on this one note..but here goes...

For my Captain Scarlet I thought that Alistair Mackenzie of "Monarch of the Glen" fame might do nicely...English accent and all.... Captain Ochre Has to be the drooly Dylan Walsh from Nip-Tuck..and Lt Green is Enterprise's Anthony Montgomery..okay..he doesnt look ALL that like him..but he would look good sitting there! I'll have Irishman badboy Colin Farrel for Magenta...It'll take a lot to top Sean Connery though...nice one Marion...and I'm still searching for that Blue boy...
