A Captain Scarlet (Original) Challenge.

This is the writing of VMR.
We know you will be reading this, humans.
Because this is the fiftieth anniversary of Captain Scarlet, an account of the consequences of a man’s terrible decision.
You are to be tested. We will challenge your knowledge and make you to think.
You have been warned.

Well actually… I thought that it might be fun to put together some questions and once I got started it grew and ended up becoming this.
So what is ‘this’ you might ask? 'This', is going to be me posting three questions each week (sometimes there be four). One about the episodes, one to do with the equipment and one concerning the fan fiction stories that are on this site. They might not be canon but they’ve added to our enjoyment of Captain Scarlet. So it seems a shame not to celebrate them too.

I will be keeping track of the answers and awarding points. They will go like this: one point for each correct question, the first person to answer two questions correctly will get a bonus point, same for the person who gets three correct.
And if you don’t know the answer, make one up. You might get a bonus point for making me laugh.
So come on folks, give it a go.
Here’s your first three.

1: ‘Move! This is supposed to be a Spectrum base, not a rest center.’ is said by Colonel White in which episode?

2: Does an Angel Interceptor have wheels?

3: This story is set in Egypt and before the Mysterons. It stars Rhapsody, Symphony, Ochre and Magenta. In it Rhapsody is abducted and Ochre is stabbed. What is its title and who wrote it?

Now I said that I would post weekly but to give people time to find this challenge and join in, the next set of questions I will post in three weeks’ time. After that it will be weekly on a Monday.

Well a weeks gone by and I see that a some of you have looked at this challenge but, as of yet, no answers. (Is there anyone out there???? )
Still there is two more weeks, before I will put up the next lot of questions. I hope some answers come before then.

The idea is good to have questions and trivia, but I think that the problem is that if we answer here, everyone will see the answers as soon as someone replies. That means the game ends pretty quickly...

Did you mean that people sent you the answers as a private message?

Thanks for your post. In setting this up I did think about how the questions would be answered and decided that having them being able to be seen, here on this thread, wasn’t too big a problem. The answers might not be correct. (Not all of the questions are going to be easy) Also I decided to add the bonus points to acknowledge (and to make it fairer) those who posted quickly. You see I was thinking that because there going to be around 32 sets of questions (as there’s 32 episodes) there’s going to be plenty of points up for grabs.
However, for those who would like to not post their answers here, they can answer as a private message. Although I’m not too savvy on how to access them. Or e-mail them to zararob@hotmail.co.nz They will still be counted.
Answers and standings won’t be posted until a day or two after the next set of questions are given. Every correct answer gets a point.

2: How many passengers can a Yellow Fox security tanker carry, in it‘s false octane tank?

3: In which story does Captain Scarlet find himself on the USS Enterprise (Star Trek, Next Generation)?

.....White as snow.
I had to start with this question, considering that it is used by our Colonel Chris on her posts on the forum.
2: Does the Angel Interceptor have wheels?
.....Yes.
.....Graham Bleathman’s cross-section of the Interceptor, shows that they are housed in the same areas that the electromagnets (that are used to launch off Cloudbase) are housed
I am aware that the Angel cross-section on this web-site does not show them but it is Graham Bleathman’s cross-sections that I am using for my reference material.

2: How long is a Spectrum Pursuit Vehicle?

3: After being hit by a van, while riding a bike, Captain Magenta ends up riding a black horse that was not a horse in this story. What is it’s title and who wrote it?

Talking about questions here are the answers for the second set of questions.

.....In this episode, Colonel White is seen sitting on set by the rainbow wall, instead of the middle of the round glass table, where he usually sat. As he briefs Captains Scarlet and Blue and Lieutenant Green on their mission to the moon.
2: How many passengers can a Yellow Fox security tanker carry, in it‘s false octane tank?
....Six.
3: In which story does Captain Scarlet find himself on the USS Enterprise (Star Trek, Next Generation)?

Question: 1: In which episode do some of the characters stay in the Maxacom motel?

Answer: Heart of New York. Although how you can consider a bank the heart of a city, I'm still wondering. You'd think the Mysterons would aim at something more symbolic - like the Statue of Liberty? Mmm... Plot bunny here...

Question: 2: How long is a Spectrum Pursuit Vehicle?

Answer: 25 feet! But that's not the oddest feature of the SPV! The vehicle is powered by a removable power pack, that can be used as an hoverpack! I ask you: what if that pack is removed and whoever's still in the SPV needs to make a quick getaway? Now, that's calling for trouble...

3: After being hit by a van, while riding a bike, Captain Magenta ends up riding a black horse that was not a horse in this story. What is it’s title and who wrote it?

Answer: The excellent "Mid-Autumn Night's Mare" by the equally excellent Tiger Jackson. Magenta ends up riding a Pooka, in the form of a horse. You'd think that fighting the Mysterons, he would be more suspicious. AND cautious!
