.....Spectrum Strikes Back
.....Special Assignment
2: What is the main alloy used to construct Spectrum’s Hovercraft?
.....Fleetonium alloy
3: This story is set at the beginning of Spectrum, before the Martian mission. Three of the newly appointed captains have the job of keeping safe an ambassador’s daughter. As they do so, they end up being helped by a friendly spirit. Which sealed their fates. Which story is it and who wrote it?

An interesting take on the reason of why Captains Scarlet, Black and Brown ran foul of Mysterons later on.
Another four points for Lt Pine, two correct answers. Well done.

Yes, it is true the SPV can travel on water. Surprising, isn't it? Just check the first ever Captain Scarlet comic strip, drawn by Ron Embleton if you don't believe it!
And...
The story for the third question is "Cordyceps", written by Marion Woods. It must be one of my favourite Halloween tales - truly creepy!

Set Eighteen.
1: In which episode does a model aircraft cause Spectrum trouble?
.....Flight 104
.....Point 783
.....Model Spy
.....Codename Europa
2: What is the image you see on underside of an Angel Interceptor?
The eve of hallos eve, so here are two Halloween story questions for you.
3A: Take one Melody Angel and a Captain Ochre add a hotel room in Las Vegas (after a night of drinking) and it could only add up to one word. Which is the name of the story I’m after.
So what is it and who wrote it?
3B: An ex-girlfriend weaves a tale of apple bobbing that ends up getting Captain Grey into hot water. What is the name of this funny tale and who is its author?

1: In what episode do we hear Harmony Angel speak for the first time in her aircraft?
......White as snow.
She does say S.I.G. in ‘The Mysterons’ but she is standing in the Amber Room when she says it. Her line ‘S.I.G, Symphony.’ in 'White as Snow' is the second time she speaks.
2: The Spectrum Pursuit Vehicle can travel on water, true or false?
.....True.
It’s a real pity that we don’t see that ability being used in any of the episodes.
3: What is the name of the story in which Captain Scarlet is infected and almost killed by a fungus and who wrote it?
.....Cordyceps. By Marion Woods.
I have to agree with Chris it is a really great and creepy Halloween Story. I love how she used an unexpected antagonist.
Thanks to Colonel Chris and Lt Pine for answering two questions each. Chris, you got question two right first, so you get two points for it and Lt Pine will get one. However you, Lt Pine, were the first to answer the first question, so you get two points for it. So each of you get three points each. I’ll put a points table up with the next set of questions. So that everyone can see where they are at.

1: In which episode does a model aircraft cause Spectrum trouble?
.....Codename Europa
2: What is the image you see on underside of an Angel Interceptor?
......An A, to start out with but if you look carefully there two Spectrum ‘roundels’ that got added later on. (Where the cross bar of the A meet the two down stokes.)
3a: Take one Melody Angel and a Captain Ochre add a hotel room in Las Vegas (after a night of drinking) and it could only add up to one word. Which is the name of the story I’m after, so what is it and who wrote it?
......Nightmare. By Sage Harper
An interesting short story. It would be just like Ochre to pull that joke.
3b: An ex-girlfriend weaves a tale of apple bobbing that ends up getting Captain Grey into hot water. What is the name of this funny tale and who is its author?
.....She’ll be Apples. By Cwissy
Be aware of ex-girlfriends if that’s they can come with.
Both Marion and Lt Pine got questions one and two right, with Marion being the first. She also got one of the story questions right, so got point for that. Points for Set Eighteen: Marion, 6 and Lt Pine, 4.
Now here is the promise point table:
Lt Pine: 21.........Marion: 17
Chris: 14...........Carrie: 4
Elentari: 2
I’ve tried to be as correct as possible but things can be missed. If anyone thinks I have missed something, please let me know.

1: ‘No. But one more question like that, Lieutenant, and you will be.’ is said by Colonel White in which episode?
.....Renegade Rocket
2: How fast can a Maximum Security Vehicle go?
.....200 to 250 m.p.h.
3: In which story does Colonel White stir up trouble for himself when he decides to hold a training / security exercise on July the 4th? And who is the author?
......War of Nerve. By Mary J Ruby
It would be just like Captain Ochre to come up with such a devious scheme to express the annoyance felt because Colonel White’s orders. Mary did an awesome job writing this story. I just couldn’t stop when I read it, I had to see what was going to happen next. Thanks Mary for such a great story.
A well done to Marion, for getting all three questions right. Another six points for you. So far only she and Chris have managed to answer all the questions in one set. Good on you ladies, also a big thank you to the rest of you that have put forth answers to the questions.

1. Manhunt.
... And it did it again, a couple of times over. The colonel's ears were probably burning...
2. That is a tricky question! It actually has TWENTY wheels - as 10 sets of 2 wheels. However, it's said that the SPV is six-wheeled drive - perhaps they count the caperpillar set?

3. That's the "Sometimes..." series, written by Shades. Absolutely loved those short stories!
BONUS QUESTION:
I would have to say "The Mysterons" for the first one, without being entirely sure. But for the life of me, I can't remember which one is the second one. Certainly not "Flight to Atlantica", as Colonel White specifically said that Angel One is manned...
