Well done Chris, three out of three. You’re now have 12 points.
(At least I know that someone is enjoying these questions.)
1: Captain Black is seen on Cloudbase in which episode?
.....Attack on Cloudbase
chrisbishop wrote:But then again... he is there or not? This is a dream episode, after all...
Or is it not?
Hmm, so it was and what an odd episode it was. The commentary that Gerry Anderson gives on it is interesting. (On the fifth C.D. of one of the C.D. sets)
2: How many people can travel in a Maximum Security Vehicle?
.....Four
chrisbishop wrote: But it seems mighty big to only be able to carry four people!
It does carry a lot of other gear that take up space, like: fuel tanks, air-recycling unit, emergency oxygen tanks, emergency water tanks, food rations and personal hygiene paraphernalia. It does seem like a bit of an over kill, when its main job is to take V.I.P.s straight to a Maximum Security Building.
3: Setting out to explore Captain Ochre’s early life, this story follows him through High School, getting his pilot’s licence, driver’s licence and his time training at the World Government Police Cadet Academy. What is its title and who wrote it?
.....Passages. By Caroline Smith.
chrisbishop wrote:And I do recommand it, especially for any Captain Ochre's fan!
So do I. A really neat, well thought out story. With a lot of interesting surprises. I love how she brought in the other Spectrum characters but not as themselves. (I had fun playing match.) Not to mention how she took what is known about Ochre’s background (officially) and worked out how it might have come about. Well done and thanks.

This is what happens when you think you know the TV show backwards...but haven't actually watched all the episodes for ages. You read the questions and....Nope....next question....Nope.....next question.....ah.
One out of the three is no good. VMR, you probably won't ever get an attempt to answer the quiz from me...I don't know as much (or remember as much) as I think I do. Call myself a fan....how embarrassing.

Hats off to people who know all the answers!

I will admit that these questions came about because of a project I wanted to do but couldn’t. So I did end up watching the episodes a lot.
I will say again you don’t need to know all three answers to post any. If you only know one, go ahead and post it.
Would it help if I made the episode question a multi-answer? E.g., giving you a choice of three or four episodes, with one being right.
As for the equipment questions, I only have three reference resources. Chris’s web-side, A book of Graham Bleathman’s cross-sections and the extras on the C.D.s. I’ve mainly used the book. So sorry if one of those contradicts another.
I also hope that even if one doesn’t know the answers for the Fan story question, that once you know it, you would go and read it anyway. I thought that it would be a good way to celebrate the rich collection that is there.
It nice to know that people are enjoying these questions. Makes it worth doing it.
Vickie.

Set Nine's questions.
1: Captain Blue crashes a S.P.V, in which episode?
.....The Trap.
.....Manhunt.
.....Traitor.
.....Codename Europa.
2: The Magnacopter only carries passengers, true or false?
3:This story starts with a cricket match and its writer cleverly combines the new vehicles and equipment of the ‘New Captain Scarlet’ universe with the characters of the original one.
What one is it and who wrote it?
By all means Marion PM if you want, I’ll happily give some clues but I will warn you that I not always able to check the web regularly. It could be up to four days (or more) between my checking.

I have had one (for this set) come to me through private message part of the forum. (And some already for set nine.) Thank you.

Well done Elentari for your right answer to question three. Two points to you.

So without further a do, here they are.
1: In which episode we see three Spectrum personnel in a Spectrum Saloon Car?
.....Seek and Destroy. Scarlet, Blue and Destiny.
Oh those old front bench seats, you just don’t see them in today’s modern cars.
2: The Spectrum Passenger Jet’s rear wings can become airbrakes by doing, what?
.....By turn through 90° on a high-tensile activating rod.
Well that would be one way of stopping on Cloudbase.
I think that, taking into account the S.P.J’s size and weight, the way that jets are normally stopped on Aircraft carrier wouldn’t work to well for them.
3: In which story does Captain Blue almost gets poisoned by a cup of coffee but isn’t because Scarlet sends it flying after getting a message from the other side?
.....Ghost. By Keryn.
I love the sweet ending to this story.

1: In which episode do we see Melody and Harmony go up to Angels two and three but it’s Symphony and Rhapsody who we see flying them?
.....Big Ben Strikes Again.
.....Flight 104.
.....Inferno.
.....Flight to Atlantica.
2: How long and wide is a Maximum Security Vehicle?
3: In which story does Captain Grey fall in love, ends up in a car cash with Magenta and knocks out Ochre? Also who wrote it?
Bonus Question.
4: In which two episodes is Captain Blue partnered with Captain Ochre and not with Captain Scarlet?
.....Point 783
.....Flight 104.
.....The Launching
.....Inferno.
.....Flight to Atlantica.

1: Captain Blue crashes a S.P.V, in which episode?
.....Codename Europa.
It is interesting to note Marion that a bit later on that bruise disappears.
2:The Magnacopter only carries passengers, true or false?
.....False. It’s also capable of carrying a M.S.V. or a S.S.C. or a S.P.V.
3: This story starts with a cricket match and its writer cleverly combines the new vehicles and equipment of the ‘New Captain Scarlet’ universe with the characters of the original one. What one is it and who wrote it?
.....A Catch at Christmas. By Talia Gray.
I love how she does it.
Thank you to Marion and Carrie for their answers. Marion got all three right, so gets six points and Carrie got two questions right, so four points to you. So the points stand thus. Colonel Chris has 12, (being first in 2 sets with right answers). Marion has 6, (being first for 1 set). Carrie 4 (being first to get two questions right in one set) and Elentari 2 (being the first in answering one question). The next set of questions will be posted hopefully on Monday. Answers can be sent by private message if you want.

1. Inferno.
2. 24 feet long - 9 feet wide.
3. I don't know - I've only read 1 fan story and it obviously wasn't the answer to this question.
4. The Launching and Flight to Atlantica.

1: In which episode does Captain Scarlet find the character Macey lying on the side of the road?
.....Big Ben Strikes Again.
.....The Heart of New York.
.....Point 783.
.....The Launching.
2: How many passengers can the Spectrum Passenger Jet carry?
3: What might happen if turns out that Captain Scarlet isn’t the only person to have gotten free after being replicate by the Mysterons and can retometabolise? This story explores this concept. What is its title and who wrote it?
