Sorry to be late with kudos/comments..but better late than never, as they say..
Cat2 - interesting tale about those 'grateful villages' it's nice to learn something new while you're reading fan-fiction!
Lt Pine - nice first story. I think the inspiration fairy must have sprinkled the same dust over both of us, I swear to you I had no idea you had written a story about Captain Black in a graveyard as well - totally spooky!!!!
VMR - loved the references to a certain iconic song - very clever.
Marion - TWO stories - oh how you spoil us...
Sage - welcome back, it's been a while. Good to see you are still scribbling away.
Chris - such a poignant tale for Halloween. I'm wishing that's how it could be when the time comes..

Emily is an English version of the Latin Aemilila, which comes from the word for "rival".
Cameron, this Scottish name means "crooked nose".

I honestly can't remember how I found the names for his parents although a quick search on google throws up the derivation of Conrad from the proto-Germanic Konrad, meaning 'bold counsel'. Hmm...didn't quite pan out that way, unfortunately for him or Earth.
