PRIVATE MESSAGE INCREASE AND CHAT ROOM POLL

After studying the content of a few posts exchanges in the last week, the Administration of the Spectrum Headquarters Forum came to the conclusion that a lot of you seemed to want to chat between yourselves. Thus, we have came to a decision about this new development.

You will have noticed that we have closed down a few of those 'Chatting threads' on the open forum. However, as we do want to keep our members happy, and know that they need a place to talk between them about various, different things (including maybe exchanging ideas for developing stories), we have also decide to increase the private message capacity. From a hundred posts in each of the various private message boxes (Send, Receive, and Save), you can now store up to 500 posts. Which should be plenty of space for you to chat about.

In addition, we are also contemplating the possibility of installing a a new chat room for our members, in the Spectrum Headquarters space. There is one accessible through the MSN Archives (link above), that you can also use in the meantime.

If this idea seems appealing to you, we would like to hear you about it.

but i think a chat board would be tons of fun.

Yeah, I think it would be a pretty good idea.
Must say though, I've got the same problem as Sasha, and at the bottom of the screen, where it lists things like 'You can post on this topic', it says 'You cannot vote in this topic' (or something like that).

I hadn't thought to look down at the bottom of the screen, but yes mine says that too.

I think there is a demand for somewhere to exchange the sort of messages and 'chat' that isn't currently allowed on the forum. Not sure I would use it, but I think it would be nice for those who want to to have the option. The PM system isn't easy to use for a light-hearted chat.

I think it is a FAB idea, it would certainly stop threads turning into bomb sites, i.e full of meaningless chatter. It means we would be able to get better connected and aquainted with each other and new members. Prehaps help make the site even more friendlier.

I doubt if I would use the chatroom, but the extra message capacity is very useful.
