Did Captain Scarlet Die??

It has been a while since I watched the original series, but I have vivid memories of the Temple (i think that was what it was called...been a while since i watched CS!) blowing up. Is this correct? Was Captain Scarlet on board? Did he die? Who else died?

I would be most greatful to whoever answers my question, as it would put a nice end to a discussion with a friend!

There is an episode where an 'Aztec' temple is destroyed by being blown up - and no one dies in that - although a water processing plant is destroyed.
The Spectrum base is called 'Cloudbase' and that is attacked by 'flying saucers' and destroyed - with all hands lost - BUT - we learn at the end of the epsiode that it was only a dream of one of the characters - so in reality no one died there either!

Thanks for that! That was much appreciated! Christmas is coming...maybe I will request the DVD box set so I am enjoy Captain Scarlet over and over again!

The installment "Attack On CloudBase" actually did NOT describe any events that took place during delirium on the Symphony Angel's part. What happened to CloudBase and its senior staff members in that installment was all phony, and it all resulted from the Mysterons deliberately planting a hallucination in her mind by telepathic means whilst she was stranded in the desert, in what proved to be a vain effort to break her will to fight them.

That's one solution to the question of just what was happening in 'Attack on Cloudbase' - and it might well be true, but the actual episode does not explain in any detail.
Symphony calls it 'a horrible nightmare' - and there's no explanation given about just what made her plane crash in the first place.
The Mysteron threat is against Cloudbase, (although we're left unsure if that was for real, as no 'real' attack is made, as far as we're told) rather than against Symphony or any of the Angels (as in 'Seek and Destroy'), or a general 'one of the members of Spectrum will betray you all' (as in 'Inquisition').
In this thread I was merely trying to answer the question of a guest poster, without getting bogged down in too much detail.
