Is it me or does this not look finished? I hope this is an early prototype of their attempt at a Captain Scarlet replica because it looks pretty poor to me: http://www.productenterprise.com/ir/cs_cs.html

When it comes to likenesses I've seen much worse.

Never mind the Scarlet figure - where's the one of Captain Blue??

MMK is right, it looks like the Vivid Imaginations figures. The problem is the face is all one color; namely, there's no five-o'clock shadow or any other gradation of color. The lips are a bit "pouty," but that's not necessarily a *bad* thing... :angel)

He's still handsome though... 0---0

Theres no eye lashes either. I do think the uniform looks pretty good, its just the paint job on the head that the problem. I suppose if you bought one you could 'customize' it to make it more accurate...maybe

Eyelashes, as well as other small details, are a tricky matter in any scale rendition. If you don't get them just right, they REALLY stick out and you'd have been better off not using them at all. For example, it's often suggested NOT to paint the "whites" of the eyes white, because most of the time no one notices them anyway (despite what the colonists' leader at Bunker Hill is supposed to have said to his troops :wink:

). I know of many model figures ruined where the less-experienced modeler painted the "whites" of the eyes and the otherwise fearless-looking figure looked like it was scared out of its wits.

A good rule of thumb is to stand the "scale" distance away from a real person, aircraft etc. and see what details you can see before you start including those details in your model. For example, an Action Man/GI Joe large figure is a foot tall, so you would stand far enough away from a person so that they appear a foot tall to you as well. Then see what you can see, if you can make out their eyelashes, what the folds in their clothes look like, and so on. You'll be surprised at what you can and can't see at that distance!

Point taken on 'scale rendition' and that would be appropriate comment if we were looking at a model. However this isn't a scaled down figurine, this is a full blown 22 inch figure, therefore 1:1 scale with the original. It shouldn't be an interpretation, it should be as close to identical as possible. As such it should have all the detail of the original puppet and this just seems to fall short of that. It doesn't look as good as the replcas done by 'This Planet Earth' and they were a bit lacking as well (the ones I've seen had poorly made uniforms and poor attention to detail). We'll have to wait and see what its really like when it ships.
