PRIORITY ONE RAINBOW RED: New Captain Scarlet series 2 DVD

Hello Chris,

There is now a nice big picture on the Amazon website. I wonder what the picture will be on the combined Series 1 and 2 boxset? Somehow I suspect it will be the same one!

I notice that the Series 2 boxset has been quite popular for the last week or so but not the combined boxset. I guess this might be due to a combination of factors:

Firstly, people who have already got Series 1 will only invest in Series 2.

Secondly, new fans of the series may want to see something right away so they are buying Series 1 which they can watch right now rather than waiting for the combined set which is not released until September.

Hello Chris, Amazon now have the front cover of the combined Series 1 and 2 boxset (8 disks). I was wrong because it is very different in general appearance although using the same picture of Scarlet as the Series 2 boxset.

Very good pic! Actually, it looks like the same pic they put on the volume 1 of series 1 (individual disk) - but they changed the face of Black in the background from green to red instead.

Now to see what will be the extras on series 2 - and if there will be something different in the complete boxset!

Riiiiight...

And there's no killing - and even torture - in the first 13 episodes?

Somebody goofed! And my opinion is that the real mistake was to originally think that this series would interest an audience of 4-9!

I notice that the 8 disk boxset is now being described as a slip case. I could have imagined all this but originally the so-called slip case had an RRP of £34.99 and an Amazon price of around £25.00.

This was superseded by an 8 disc boxset with an RRP of £49.99 but this has now been renamed again as a slip case, only the RRP has not been reduced.

Maybe the boxset and slip case always were one and the same but I don't know what was going on with the RRPs if that was the case. It is hard to prove now because I didn't take screenshots of the original adverts.

It's all a bit academic anyway because I have only ordered Series 2.

According to Fanderson, and I am sure they would know, the Series 2 boxset contains no extras at all.

"It appears that there will be no extra features on any of the 'Series Two' discs."

I can't say that I am surprised because Dominic Lavery and others would surely have been involved if anything new had been done.

It's a real shame that the original 5 min promo couldn't have made an appearance!
