Files can or cannot be directly uploaded?
Moderator: Spectrum Strike Force
Is it permitted to post files directly to this forum?
Or will any files so posted be deleted if this is done?

Only pictures and links to webpages can be put into messages on this forum, as for any other forum.
If you mean pictures, you have to make sure these pictures are your own or that you have permission to 'link' them. 'Hotlinking', as it is called, is not only illegal, but it's not really nice to do, as it eats lots of bandwith from the website where it's hosted. Generally, the owner of that website is paying good money for his space and bandwith. Not only that, but too much of a bandwith use would shut down the website for hours - if not days, especially in the case of 'free' website space. It is better for you to ask for permission to use the said image, and then load it to a place like Photobucket, where you'll be allowed to post a link through here.
As for other files - it is not really possibly to post them over here. The forum is only that - a forum. To post a file requires the use of webspace, which is owned by the webmaster, and which access is restricted only to that webmaster who is paying for the space - me, in this case.
You still have the possibility to put your files on your own webspace - and then again, it still depends of what kind of files you have in mind, because not all files can or should be made accessible through internet! - and then put a link through here. But in that case, it might be a good idea to contact the webmaster for permission for it, because all links through this forum are checked thoroughly, for the following reasons:
- to see if they represent spam of any kind, or other similar nasty things;
- to verify if they are relevant to the website;
- to see if the link actually works.
Alternatively, if a member has something he wants to see posted on this webspace, the best action would be to contact the webmaster (still me), who has full authority over what is posted or not. Like for pictures or fanfic submitted for the Fanfic archives.
The way to do this is to contact the webmaster through e-mail (spectrum_hq@hotmail.com), because at this point, a submission becomes a private matter, and should be discussed with the webmaster.
Hope this answers any questions any members could have on the subject.
