Robert Vaughn, best known for his role as Napoleon Solo in "The Man From UNCLE", but also well-known to fans of Gerry Anderson as Harry Rule in "The Protectors", has died: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-37957088

I never saw 'The Protectors' but I watched 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.' avidly. While I was totally an Illya Girl, you can't have an Illya without a Napoleon.
It is another sad loss.
2016 is really cutting a swathe through the Greats of my past. :cry:

I know Marion, I feel the same, being a huge Man From Uncle fan too. It's so depressing to lose yet another icon from our formative years.
I read his autobiography 'A Fortunate Life' a couple of years ago and it was a funny, witty and very informative record of the television industry at the time he played Napoleon Solo in the series.
