CAREFULLY READ THIS IMPORTANT NOTE FOR TAPES AND DVD:
Be
aware of the different Regions and recording Formats. UK tapes and
DVD are PAL format - and DVD discs are Region 2, which means that, PAL
TAPES ARE ONLY COMPATIBLE WITH UK VIDEO SYSTEMS AND REGION 2 DVD DISCS ARE
ONLY COMPATIBLE WITH EUROPEAN PLAYERS -- THEY WILL NOT WORK IN US
EQUIPMENT. Unless you have a system that will enable you to, you
will not be able to view those medias in North American machines, which
use NTSC recording format, and Region 1 for DVD discs. The same is
true the other way around.

Before
"Captain Scarlet", there was "Thunderbirds".
There's
no arguments about it: "Thunderbirds" was - or rather IS -
the most popular series created by Gerry Anderson - either in
Supermarionation or live-action. With episodes of 1 hour long - a
unique format for a Supermarionation series - brilliant colours,
fantastic plots, and interesting characters, the 1965 series knew then and
still knows a worldwide success that never diminished with time. It
follows the adventures of "International Rescue", a secret
organisation performing rescues all over the world, using hi-tech vehicles
and craft - the "Thunderbirds", while with the help of secret
agent Lady Penelope, repelling - although often unbeknown to them - the
efforts of the evil Hood, to learn the secrets of the Thunderbirds
technologies.

The more classic of all Andersons' series is back!
UK fans can now acquired this series, the first amongst all the
Andersons shows (and hopefully not the last...) to receive the Blu-Ray
treatment! There has been some complains about the cropping of
the picture so it would become 16:9. But this is still Blu-Ray
quality. So this is a personal choice for each fan to consider
if they want this in their collection or not...
Unfortunately, there is no plan so far for a North American
release. And up until now, there is no known international Blu-Ray
player. Crossing our fingers...

capitalize on the Thunderbirds movie - released in 2004 - Carlton Entertainment
made available for UK and European fan a new
DVD set of the Thunderbirds series, on July 19, 2004. With a cheaper prize
than the limited edition release - the new boxset doesn't features
extras. All 32 episodes are available in a complete boxset, a two boxset
series of four discs each, or on eight individual disks, containing four
episodes each.

40TH ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATIVE DVD SET (Region 2, PAL Format)

In celebration of the 40th
Anniversary of Thunderbirds, Granada Ventures released in 2005 a limited edition of a commemorative DVD boxset containing all
the 32 episodes of the most famous Anderson's show.
Unfortunately,
this Thunderbirds 40th Anniversary commemorative DVD Boxset contains the same DVDs that were previously released in 2000 and
2004.
However, for fans who do not already own Thunderbirds on DVD, the
new boxset, of 8 discs, also contains an exclusive set of postcards
and a 20-track CD of music from Barry Gray's compilation of
Thunderbirds episode scores from the two existing Silva Screen CD
soundtrack albums).
This anniversary boxset was released on a limited edition of 5000 individually numbered units.
